After waiting for months (all of the cold ones) our log burner has finally arrived and been fitted. I've got the feeling that we've burnt a tree in the first week! Jon calls it a neolithic man's tv and spends hours just watching the fire burn. My new name's going to be Cinders as it seems to be me that has to do all the cleaning of the ashes. As well as being an attractive addition to the hall it does give a lot more heat than the gas fire. (February 2009).
